Michaels Grumbacher Acrylic Classes

Classes are held at Michaels Arts and Crafts store in Gastonia, NC and Michaels on Park Road in Charlotte.

Currently classes are held on Tuesday mornings 10:00 - 12:00.  I am also planning some classes in the evenings and possibly on weekends (keeping checking the schedule).   Let me know if you have a specific day and time that is best for you and I will try to work with you!

In the class schedule I offer a four different subjects:  Landscape, Floral, Seascape, and Still Life.

The workshop address some of the basic principles of color and composition, and will focus on some of the basic techniques of acrylic painting. By the end of each two-hour class, students will have completed a finished painting (like the ones you see here).

Students also need for class:

  • Canvas panel or other paintable surface (we usually paint a 9" x 12" canvas panel)
  • #8 Filbert bristle brush*
  • #2 Round brush*
  • Palette knife*
  • Paint palette - White styrfoam plates  (need more than one usually) or palette paper  available in a pad work well.  I discourage using the small plastic palettes as there is usually not enough space for loading the brush and blending.
  • Paper towels
  • Water basin
  • Pencil and paper for notes!
If you have addition brushes, please bring them.
(I usually have extra paper towels and water basins)

If you live in the area, I urge you to try a class to get your creative juices flowing!!!  Bring a friend and have some fun.  Better still, bring a group and have a girls or boys morning out!,
